Coronavirus (COVID-19)

A person using hand sanitiserThe Bridge is very aware of the increasing concern about Coronavirus in the community and measures being taken at all levels to try and reduce the risk of contracting the Coronavirus.

Please be assured The Bridge is continuing to take all possible precautions in relation to Infection Control and Social / Physical Distancing, with a large percentage of our Business and Administration staff working from home to further protect our participants, carers and direct support staff.

As at 6 April 2020 there have been no confirmed COVID-19 cases at The Bridge.

The Bridge wants to reassure our participants and carers that we are regularly reviewing your services and supports in response to changes announced by both Federal and State Governments.

Where possible, The Bridge has been developing and implementing safe alternate service delivery models and we encourage you to contact your current service/s if you wish to know more about these options.

Other measures we have implemented include:

  • Risk Assessments relevant to each service and site.
  • Assessment of maximum room capacity at our day services for 1:1 support e.g. one participant and one staff member per room at each site.
  • On-line and in person training of personal hygiene requirements for participants and staff.
  • Communication of the Social Story, offering participants an easy read version of how they can continue to stay in contact with their peers and staff in a respectful way.
  • Provision of personal protective equipment packs and increased cleaning by contractors.

This is an extremely difficult time for us all and we understand that it has a significant effect, not only on participants, families and carers, but also the employees of The Bridge.

We want to ensure once the restrictions are lifted, and the postponed services resume, our participants and family/carers can make a seamless transition back to The Bridge.

Please contact The Bridge if you have any questions regarding our services.
